Cosmetic Tattoo Q & A

What is Cosmetic Tattoo? Cosmetic tattoo, also known as micropigmentation or semi-permanent makeup, involves the implantation of micro pigments into the superficial layer of the skin. This procedure is performed using a manual or electric inductor, microblades, or cartridges. It aims to create the illusion of denser and more defined eyebrows or add color and definition to the lips.

What is the Difference Between PMU and Microblading? Both PMU (Permanent Makeup) and microblading fall under the umbrella of cosmetic tattoo. PMU utilizes needles, cartridges, and an electric inductor (machine) to implant pigments into the skin, while microblading uses blades (composed of a set of needles) and a manual inductor.

Which Technique is Right for Me? The choice between techniques depends on factors such as your skin type, age, and the desired outcome. For eyebrow procedures, the suitable technique will be determined based on these factors. However, lip procedures are always performed using the PMU technique.

How Long Should I Allocate for the Procedure? Please allow approximately four hours for your cosmetic tattoo procedure. The time required for eyebrow and lip tattoos is usually between two to three hours. This procedure requires delicate attention to detail, and having ample time allows us to work meticulously without any rush.

Does Cosmetic Tattooing Cause Discomfort? Cosmetic tattooing, particularly in the eyebrow area, should not be painful as it is performed in the superficial layer of the skin. However, individual pain thresholds can vary. To ensure a pleasant experience, we apply topical anesthetics. Please refer to important information regarding Topical Anesthetics below.

Do You Use Templates for Eyebrows? No, we do not use templates. Each face is unique, with distinct features. Therefore, our work is individually designed and performed, following the natural shape of your brows. We aim to enhance and improve your brows in a realistic manner.

Do You Use Different Techniques in Cosmetic Tattooing? Yes, depending on the desired outcome, your skin type, and age, we use different techniques to achieve optimal results. For eyebrows, we may use microblading, PMU, or a combination of both. Lips are treated using the PMU technique, and within this technique, we can apply various methods to achieve more intense and defined or soft and subtle looks.

Important Information: If you have certain medical conditions or are taking specific medications, you may not be a suitable candidate for cosmetic tattooing due to potential reactions, increased risk of infection, extended healing time, or poor pigment retention. For certain medications, you may need to discontinue their use for at least four weeks before undergoing a cosmetic tattoo procedure. Please contact us to ensure that you are a suitable candidate, as our goal is to achieve not only beautiful but also safe results.
